Temple Sholom, the most welcoming and growing congregation in Cincinnati, is seeking to engage a part-time Director of Religious School to oversee the religious school of 30+ children for the 2024-2025 school year. This position will also be responsible for helping coordinate our Lifelong Learning efforts throughout the year.

Compensation + Term
Term: July 1st, 2024 – June 30th, 2025
Time Commitment: 18 – 22 hours average per week
Compensation: $35,000-$45,000 depending on experience

Specific Duties + Responsibilities:
• Develop a curriculum and overall vision for the religious school.
• Supervise and collaborate with teachers and faculty.
• Recruit, retain, and prepare teachers and madrichim.
• Communicate and develop relationships with families and the entire congregation.
• Submit a yearly budget for approval.
• Be a constant presence at Religious School (Sundays 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.).
• Substitute for teachers who are absent and/or serve as a guest teacher in particular lessons.
• Plan and facilitate holiday, family, and intergenerational programs, and grade-level services.
• Assist in leading Tefillah as needed.
• Organize, set up, and take down educational materials in classrooms each week.
• Contribute to our Lifelong Learning calendar by planning and facilitating Jewish educational content for adult learners.

Additional Qualifications: (Not Required for Consideration)
• Understanding of the Hebrew Language.
• Ability to participate in musical portions of learning.

Regular Expectations: (In collaboration with Executive Director)
• Attend weekly staff meetings (Wednesday at 10 a.m.).
• Meet weekly with Direct Supervisor.
• Be available for events and other programs, even when not directly responsible for planning/facilitation, and get to know Chaverim.
